Before school care
For primary aged children before school (generally between 7:00 am-9:00 am).
After school care
For primary aged children after school (generally between 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm).
Day Care
Care in day care centres mainly for children up to school age. Also known as kindergartens, preschools, child care centres or early learning centres. Generally between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm.
Kindergarten
An early childhood education program that prepares children for school. Approved Kindergarten Program's are taught by qualified early childhood teachers. Generally between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm.
Occasional care
Flexible care allowing families to meet their work and non-work related commitments. A centre-based form of child care, mainly for children up to school age.
Preschool
An educational establishment offering early childhood education to children between the ages of three and five, or seven, prior to the commencement of compulsory education at primary school.
Vacation care
For primary aged children during school holidays generally between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
