Debbie has been working with children for the past 10 years. She specialises working with children and adolescents in trauma and sexual abuse and breaking the abuse cycle. Debbie has experience working with different cultural groups and religious backgrounds. For the past two years Debbie has been based in Western-Sydney working as a child sexual assault counsellor and now is opening her practice in Bondi Junction.
At ladybug counseling Debbie works from a holistic approach and uses an indirect (child centered) approach and follows the child’s lead. When needed she will direct the session using a variety of directive play approaches and talk therapy (with adolescents).
Holistic approach includes working with all the appropriate people in the child or adolescent's life and this is inclusive of family and carer's.
