About Jane Stops Lymphoedema Therapist
Jane trained in Complex Lymphoedema Therapy with Elsebeth Petersen (Perry), an accredited trainer for the Australasian Lymphology Association, in the Casley-Smith method of Complex Lymphoedema Therapy. Jane treats people with existing mild-to-moderate lymphoedema, or those at significant risk. Patients who already have swelling diagnosed as lymphoedema are usually referred or recommended by medical/allied health professionals.
A written referral is not needed at the first appointment.Further to basic lymphoedema training is the use of laser, Coban2 bandaging and counselling. Where considered appropriate, other therapists with specific skills will be recommended. Ongoing treatment is available for people with severe lymphoedema if treated initially as an inpatient at a hospital clinic.
