The online purchase system at Harvey Norman is extremely slow and inadequate. My experience was with the Harvey Norman in Preston (Melbourne VIC). After three days of making an online purchase with the pick up in store option I am still waiting for the Preston store to contact me with the correct order ready for pick up notice. At the time of purchase (and even today) all items show as "in stock" for the Preston store. Payment for the order was taken immediately, however the lack of communication by the person responsible is alarming. I requested that the order be collected by someone other than myself (my brother and/or mother) and did as instructed notifying their online security department of my request. They contacted me promptly and told me that they had informed the Preston store. Two days later I received an email thanking me for my order and leting me know that I would receive another two emails , one informing me when the order was ready for pick up and a second one with the tax invoice. On day three I decided to use their live chat on the website to see if I could get an update and was told that they would look into it and get back to me before COB that day. By 16:10 I was still waiting to hear from them so I used the live chat option again. This time I was "helped" by someone called Michael and the lack of basic manners and customer service skills is alarming to say the least. Michael did not answer my questions clearly and even though I was polite (I understood that he isn't responsible for the issues with my order) he ended the chat without notice. I find this lack of basic niceties troublesome in someone who's job is to provide assistance. Michael was working on Monday June 26 2017 at 16:10. I truly hope that his manager is notified and arranges some much needed training for him. I am happy to provide any additional information regarding this issue if needed. Have a great day and I hope you never have to deal with this level of unprofessionalism when making a purchase. Based on my experience with purchasing items online from Harvey Norman AU, my recommendation would be to avoid them and find a better more professional shopping alternative.

I have to report to you that and employee russell darnell at the rothwell storein queensland electrical and television has gone way out of his way to solve a problem i was having.. purchased a lg 55 smart tv 3600 dols 3 months ago. developed a fine line down middle of screen..i am 79 years old lg overseas kept messing me around was getting no satisfaction i went to store told russell who has sold me the product and through his persistance the problem has been solved and a replacement product is on the way.... i am a great supporter of harvey norman as my record of purchased at the store will prove i have thanked russell profusely but had to bring this to your attention.... you certainly have a valuable employee in this gentleman... john foster
