Reviews for Direct Skylight Supplies

I found Direct Skylights (Pooraka) to be a pushy and unprofessionally run company and very fickle in the way they approach their quotation process. The original quote I received from Direct Skylights was over-priced in comparison to other local companies - Rob from the company was pulling figures out of his head, without any logical reasoning as to how the prices were arrived at. During the in-home quote appointment Rob was running-down local businesses, which I also found off-putting. After questioning the original quoted amount, Rob gave significant discount, we settled on an agreed amount with the complete work involved and then 1 week later decided to push up the quoted price without justification. A contract is a contract, verbal or written it is legally binding between 2 parties. This company also never return calls, they make promises to call customers back but they never do. This makes me question if I did go ahead with the work if there would be problems further on, that they would use 'avoidance tactics' to rid themselves of responsibility. If you Google Direct Skylights reviews you will see that this company have a history of using 'avoidance tactics' in dealing with consumer complaints - from the reviews, it appears that they do not care about the customer after the work has been completed. That is not very reassuring for consumers. It is also very poor operation of business also. After questioning the need to increase the agreed contract amount without justification - I was yelled at and told "we don't want to do any work for you" then the phone was slammed down on me, which I am still in shock over. All I was after was some skylights for my house for me and my children who have disabilities to enjoy. Instead I have endured stress from this company who are confusing and fickle in their quotation approach, rude and unprofessional. I've had so much stress dealing with this company. This is a company is not to be trusted to do business with. I feel that the company were using any excuse not to go ahead with the quoted work, even stooping as low as to significantly increase the quote amount we agreed on to put me off, knowing I wouldn't have the additional money to go ahead with the work. Maybe they felt they under-quoted on the work or just made up their mind they didn't want to carry out the work involved. Either way, its dishonest and deceitful. I don't appreciate it, but glad the company got no work from me - I will be spreading the word of my experience and telling others to steer-away from Direct Skylights at Pooraka.
