About Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School
Set on 33 hectares of natural bushland, just outside the City of Bunbury, our School provides students with a unique environment in which to learn. Offering programs that cater for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, we recognise the importance of learning from an early age. Offering a premium education to both local and reginal pupils.
Our highly qualified staff are focused on developing students who are engaged in their learning, and they are dedicated to assisting primary and secondary students to achieve excellent learning outcomes. Our students receive the best support for their learning journey, and we provide a broad range of interactive, challenging, and creative experiences to allow students to develop a love of learning and a passion for our School.
Our mission is to provide excellence in all-round education within a unique environment by promoting best practice in pastoral, academic and co-curricular programs; creating a caring, stimulating, structured and Christian setting; and encouraging students to use all their gifts to flourish and achieve their potential.
Since its first day in 1972, Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School has been at the forefront of educational innovation and focussed on providing our students with access to a wide variety of academic and co-curricular options.
This variety ensures there is something for all students at our School. From performing on the stage in a school play or part of an ensemble group; to competing on the sporting field, to travelling overseas on exchange, our students are able to challenge themselves and develop their individual talents.
Boarding
As one of only two co-educational boarding schools in the state, families cherish the opportunity to educate their sons and daughters at the same school.
Our central aim is to provide students with a home away from home experience that enables each boarding student to develop strong friendships, lifelong learning strategies and a degree of independence and co-operation that will serve them well in life beyond school.
Early Learning
Our Kindergarten program provides a welcoming and safe environment, where we recognise the unique nature of each and every individual. Our students are viewed as capable, curious, and intelligent individuals. They are encouraged to explore the world around them and delve deeper as they discover more, and their inquiries unfold. These young learners will be exposed to a variety of experiences including painting, music, reading, role play, small group learning and outdoor nature play. These all work together to offer students the opportunity to build on their existing knowledge and understandings.
Primary School
Students continue to build on the knowledge developed in the preceding years. Inquiry-driven learning is complemented by Visible Thinking processes and promoting a Growth Mindset mentality within these eight and nine-year-old children. Our dynamic teaching staff have high expectations of all the students and seek to develop programs that accommodate the individual’s needs. While the core areas of literacy and numeracy are a focus, other learning areas are also highly valued, and students are exposed to a wide range of sporting and cultural activities.
Secondary School
Our Secondary School is the perfect place for students to discover their potential. We provide access to outstanding staff and facilities along with a diverse and comprehensive curriculum and a breadth of co-curricular activities, so that each student can explore their strengths and talents. We continue to encourage creativity, allowing students to push the boundaries, and assist them in developing self-discipline and a sense of independence; life skills which are the foundation for success.
