In 1978, Eric and Doreen Allington decided to make the most from the potential in the Golden Grove Supplies Store. During that time it included the Post Office, Fodder Store, Deli and Petrol Station in Golden Grove, SA. The original business worked as a chaff-cutting operation, supplying grain, hay and pellet feed to distant places such as Broken Hill and Alice Springs.
As time went by, Golden Grove Saddlery developed into a retail country clothing operation with less focus on saddlery. The business was renamed Allingtons Country Clothing and Saddlery.
In October 2001 the business got another name change - Allington’s Outpost to reveal the bigger variety of country clothing, work and western wear. The name change matched with the move from the smaller Golden Grove store to the larger premises on Main North Road at Parafield.
In 2016 we launched the much anticipated online store. The great response and support from our customers have added to making allingtons.com.au a viable and growing online shopping destination for national and international customers.
